Lotus Root Ball

Ingredients6 servings

  • Lotus root200g
  • Onion100g
  • All purpose flour25g (or more)
  • Self-rising flour25g (or more)
  • Salt1/3 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • *option (add garlic or ginger)


  1. Dice onions. Grate lotus root, garlic, and ginger.
  2. In a bowl, add flour and salt to 1) and mix well. Make bie-sized balls with hands. (Add more flour if it's too wet, but better to be moist than too stiff.)
  3. Heat oil, and deep fry 2) until golden brown.
